Following a successful Paralympic flame celebration on Saturday in Strabane, Strabane District Council’s Chairman Councillor Thomas Kerrigan has thanked everyone for attending and getting involved in the celebrations. “It was a fantastic family day out and a fitting local tribute to the start of the London 2012 Paralympic games. The sun was shining on Strabane and so many children were smiling and having fun.”
“I would like to thank everyone who got involved in the event, the flame ambassadors, the children who took part in the procession, the traders, the sponsors of the event, those involved in the many activities in Strabane town centre and in Melvin Sports Complex. I am so pleased that we gave the Paralympic flame a warm local welcome. It really was a successful day which helped showcase our vibrant market town as a warm and welcoming place to come to shop, relax and have fun.”
