Strabane 10K Road Race 2012
Strabane will play host to a 10k Road Race and 5k Leisure Walk on Saturday 7th July 12 aimed at attracting local and visiting athletes of all ages and abilities. Strabane Council, Strabane District Sports Forum and Sperrin Springs are promoting this year’s event, which is open to everyone, whether they are seasoned roadrunners, recreational joggers or health conscious walkers.
It is hoped that this partnership approach will help make the seventh such event for Strabane a success. This year’s 10k road race and leisure walk is on the Northern Ireland Athletics Federation fixture list and is expected to receive support both locally and from further a field. There are categories for all ages, as well as a walking section, giving everyone an opportunity to participate no matter what their fitness levels, however runners must be over 15 years of age.
