Melvin comes of Age
Since the launch of the new floodlight Synthetic Pitch at Melvin user numbers have rocketed to 67,000 per year and increased demands for onsite facilities have led to the need for a total upgrade and expansion of changing and shower areas.
Building work which has been on-going since Autumn is due to be completed shortly and has been eagerly anticipated by the many soccer teams playing and training at Melvin. In addition construction work will include the provision of additional new space for a variety of community and sporting events and activities ranging from bowls and karate to youth club provision and art classes as well as the very popular children's birthday party packages. The provision of a beautiful new Conference room will provide a venue for local sporting & community groups to meet.
A financial contribution from the Department of Social Development has supported this phase of the Melvin work.Melvin Park Sports Complex
