Future Search is a unique planning method, used in communities world-wide, for “getting the whole system in the room.” It will enable diverse groups to establish a shared direction and implementation plan for Strabane District’s regeneration. The 2 1/2 day conference for Strabane District was held on 21st, 22nd and 23rd January 2010.
The planners of the Future Search process are gathered people with “authority, resources, expertise, information and need.” The groups were themed as follows:
Together they explored where we’ve been, where we are and what we want for the future. The discovered their common ground agenda and have committed to action plans to bring the agenda to life.
The Future Search conference was facilitated by Sandra Janoff, co-developer of the Future Search process and co-director of Future Search Network. Dr. Janoff is based in Philadelphia, PA, USA and has worked with communities around the world.
