The Environmental Protection team also carry out a range of duties in relation to housing, illegal eviction, harassment, odours and we also offer advice in relation to pest control including the treatment and removal of wasps nests. We deal with complaints and enquiries about housing and public health. The Department can also carry out sampling of private water supplies and recreational waters such as wells and swimming pools to determine if they achieve recognised standards. The Environmental Health Department also provide professional advice as a consultee to Planning Service in relation to planning applications with a potential environmental impact or which may be adversely affected by an existing or previous land use.
