SUPPORT FOR ETHNIC MINORITY GROUPS
Strabane District Council supports ethnic minority groups by providing a range of services.
A pack has been compiled to welcome migrant workers and people from different ethnic communities to the Strabane District Council Area, the initiative, jointly funded by Western Investing for Health Partnership and Strabane District Council has produced a pack containing vital information on issues as diverse as how to access a doctor, to how to access accommodation should you become homeless. Other issues covered include licensing (both driving and TV!), employment, training and library services. The information has been professionally designed in a user-friendly format and printed in five different languages.
The 'Welcome' booklet for Strabane Area is available to download in Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Hungarian, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu and English, this gives vital information to newcomers to the area. Thanks to the assistance of the Health Action Zone.
