ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SUMMER SCHEME FOR STRABANE DISTRICT
August 2007
The summer scheme got off to another flying start this year by offering around 400 7-16 year old children a wide range of activities. These included swimming, pony trekking, dance, drama, storytelling, karaoke, arts and crafts. Quality sports coaching was delivered in activities such as:
Following coaching, competitions were organised for the kids to try out their new skills. Trips to the cinema, bowling alley and Bananas Playpark were organised, with some also trying the fishing experience at the Loughs Agency. Overall, the scheme gave children a chance to try out an activity they may not normally have the opportunity to do, and encouraged interaction and teambuilding amongst the various community groups.
If you or your group is interested to taking part in next year's summer scheme please contact the Community Relations Department on Tel: 028 71382204. You can also email: ewatson@strabanedc.com or watch the local papers from May onwards.
