‘VOLTAGE’ leaves Youth Buzzing

Strabane Community Safety Partnership’s Voltage kicked off in Clady on Wednesday night with over 60 young people participating. Parents, Community Representatives and local Councillors looked on as the teams competed against each other in the Laser Tag Tournament to book a place in the Championship Final on Saturday 28th August. In the junior section, the all girls Mc Sorley’s Team beat the Clady Assassins to claim a place in the final. In the senior section, the John J’s beat the Skin Heads and will progress to the Championship final. The youth thoroughly enjoyed the Laser tagging and those who were not in teams were able to participate in free play sessions.
In Donemana, over 50 young people attended the Voltage heat, which was held on the playing fields. In the junior section, In It To Win It beat the A Team to claim their place in the final and in doing so have increased their chances of becoming Laser Legend. On Saturday night over 50 young people participated in the Castlederg heat with Aghyaran Mighty Atoms progressing to the final in the junior section, and Aghyaran Accidents in the senior section. Team places are still available in most of the remaining heats throughout the district. Teams will be allocated places in the tournament on a first come first serve basis. As such teams are encouraged to pre register on the website www.theadventureteam.co.uk or by calling 028816 48390 to ensure that they do not miss out.
In week 2 Voltage will be in Plumbridge on Thursday 19th August, Sion Mills on Friday 20th August and Strabane Town on the 21st August. Week three will see the last of the heats in Magheramason on Thursday 26th August and Newtownstewart on Friday 27th August. The Championship Final will be held in Strabane Town on Saturday 28th August.
