DANCE FUSION FINAL PERFORMANCE A GREAT SUCCESS
Friday, 31st July 2009
Strabane Community Safety Partnership’s Dance Fusion Final Performance took place in the Alley on Friday 31st July. The youth who had taken part in three weeks of Dance Workshops showcased the skills they had learnt in six different styles of dance to a full capacity audience at the Alley Theatre. The performance was a great way to finish off the massively successful programme which has left the youth of Strabane busting out some moves whether they are in the confines of their home or out in the streets.
The show, which lasted just over an hour, left the participants gasping for breath and the audience begging for more. The full packed, energetic show included professional showcases from tutors such as Tura Aratura, Georgina Kee, Sabroso, Fox ‘n’ Crew and the Walled City School of Irish Dance. The youth who had taken part in the classes also put on a brilliant display of talent as they showcased routines that they had learnt from the tutors in a matter of a few sessions. The youth and tutors worked extremely hard and deserve a lot of credit for their efforts.
Dance Fusion will be back next year with a bigger and better show, providing the youth of Strabane with world class tutors from near and far. And for the young people who feel that next summer is just too far away Strabane Community Safety Partnership will be running Midnight Street Soccer in October and Hip Hop workshops will be run alongside the soccer competition.
