Strabane Community Safety Partnership also held a Halloween Safety Quiz for primary and post primary pupils in the run up to Halloween. There were a large number of entries, with the majority of children answering the quiz questions correctly. The winner in the primary section was Jude Mc Garrigle from Barrack Street Boys PS, Strabane. The winner in the post primary section was Jill Mc Carter from Strabane Grammar School. Both winners received an Ipod shuffle.
Speaking about the competition Cllr Michaela Boyle, Chair of the Strabane Community Safety Partnership said,
‘It was evident that this competition has encouraged children to look closely, through group discussion, at the many different types of Anti Social Behaviour at Halloween and how it affects their community. Congratulations to both the winners and all who participated, this competition has been a great success and we look forward to distributing the calendars so that others can see the great designs’.
This project is one of a number of initiatives that Strabane Community Safety Partnership is undertaking to tackle the issues of anti social behaviour in your local area.
